Preschool & Children's Ministry

Commitment
At First Baptist Summit, we are committed to ministering to children and their families. Our Mission Statement says, "Leading Everyday People to Love Jesus and Make Him Known." We want you and your child to know Jesus through our words and our actions. We are not perfect. However, we do try to share the love of Christ in all we do. Join us as we journey together. Your child will be loved and cared for by a wonderful group of adult leaders.

Security / Safety
The facilities for our (your) children have great resources in place. Our Preschool & Children's Ministry areas are staffed by adults that have been screened and have completed background checks. There are two adults in each room and all Preschool areas are monitored by cameras. Safety and Security are high priorities for us. Parent Pagers are available for children birth - 3 years of age. The Preschool Ministry is on the 1st & 2nd floor of Ellis Hall and our Children's Ministry is on the 2nd & 3rd floor of Ellis Hall. The entire campus is patroled by our Security Team.

During Bible Study
Our Preschool & Children Ministries are grouped  by ages and use age appropriate curriculum.
   Our 2 through 5 year old use the First Look curriculum from Orange publishing.
   The 1st through 6th grades utilize Lifeway material on Sunday morning.
      The youngest preschoolers (nursery) are grouped by physical abilites; sit, crawl, walk, etc.

During Worship
The children from birth thru age three are welcome to stay in the preschool during worship.
You are also welcome to have your children accompany you in worship no matter their age.  
Children four years old & up should worship with their family.

We encourage you to talk to your children about their experiences in church. Then talk to us about any concerns or ideas you may have.
We want to make church a place children want to be. 
(FYI: There are activity sheets in the foyer that match the sermon. Allow your child  to work on these sheets to occupy there hands. Their ears are listening more than you realize.)

What about the kids? We have 2 services.
Children are expected to attend the same Bible Study / Worship times as their parents.
(There will be Bible Study for all ages at both times.)
We believe that family worship is important.
