Our Ministries

Our Ministries

Nursery/Preschool – Teachers must be members.

v     Sunday School Teachers – Teach the Bible to preschoolers on Sunday mornings.

v     Extended Session Volunteers – Keep babies and preschoolers during morning and/or evening worship on Sundays.

v     Choir Teachers – Teach/Lead music classes for children.

v     Mission Organization Teachers – Teach preschoolers about missions.

Children – Teachers must be members.

v     Sunday School Teachers – Teach the Bible to children 1-6 grade on Sunday mornings.

v     Choir Leaders – Lead/Help with music classes.

v     Mission Organization Leaders – Lead/Help children 1-6 grade learn about missions through GA’s for girls and RA’s for boys.

v     VBS Teachers/Helpers – Help with Vacation Bible School.

v     Bible Drill Helpers – Lead/Help with Bible Drills.

v     Camp LeadersHelp chaperone Kids when attending a camp or retreat.

Youth – 7th-12th Grade – Teachers must be members.

v     S.S. Teachers – Teach the Bible to 7-12 grade students on Sunday mornings.

v     DiscipleNow Hosts/Cohosts (1 time event – Winter) – Help with DNow weekend by having students in your home or by helping another family with students in their home.

v     Event Chaperones - Help chaperone student ministry trips when scheduled.

v     Camp Chaperones (1 week event – Summer) - Help chaperone student camp trips when scheduled.

College

v     Event Chaperones – Chaperone College events, camps, conferences, retreats.

v     College Bible Study Host Home – Host College Students by providing a meal and your home on a Wednesday night from 8:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Adult

v     Sunday School Leaders – Lead discussion for an adult Sunday School group on Sunday mornings.

v     Greeter Ministry – Greet people every Sunday morning from 8:40-9:05 a.m. each Sunday morning at a designated door.

v     Golf Cart Drivers - We have a golf cart that is driven around before, during, and after services for security and in order to take people from the parking lots to the entrance they desire.

v     Welcome Center Staff – Staff and make coffee for the Welcome Center one Sunday every three months.

v     Pew Information Maintenance – Maintain the pencils and pamphlets in the sanctuary pews once per week.

v     Men’s Ministry – Lead or participate in MM events. (Golf, Skeet Shoot, Dove Hunt, Archery, Tuesday Night Ministry, Prison Ministry, participate in a men’s accountability group).

v     Women’s Ministry/Mission Organizations – Lead or participate in monthly WM and/or MO events.

v     Security Ministry Team – Be available during Sunday morning worship twice per year to help provide security in the Sanctuary foyer and parking lots.

v     Offering Ushers – Help take up the offering periodically on Sunday mornings.

v     Committee Members – Committee members are selected by the Nominating Committee yearly in September. – Help lead an area of our church by serving on a committee (usually for a term of 3 to 4 years).

v     Crossguards for Wednesdays and Sundays – Help children/adults across Poplar street a month of Wednesdays or a month of Sundays.

v     Fellowship Meal Ministry – Help in some area of the Wednesday night fellowship meal. (Cooks, Servers, Set-up, etc.) 

Music

v     Choir Members – Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:30.

v     Orchestra – Meets on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.

v     Media: Sound, Lights, Computer, Video – All areas pertain to Sunday morning and evening worship.

 

Senior Adults

v     Monthly meal delivery to senior adults – Fix and/or take a meal to senior adults through the Meals of Mercy Ministry.

v     55+ – Participate in 55+ events.

v     Cooks for 55+– Make meals for 55+ monthly luncheons.

v     Drivers for 55+ – Drive vans to 55+ events.
